Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Frazer Music Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you join our waitlist or use Frazer at frazermusic.com (the “Service”). We are based in the United Kingdom and process data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Data Controller

The data controller is Frazer Music Limited. You can contact us at hello@frazermusic.com.

2. What Data We Collect

Waitlist information

When you join the waitlist we collect your first name and email address, and the two preferences you tell us: roughly where you are on guitar, and whether you mostly play acoustic or electric. We may also record standard campaign attribution (such as the site that referred you). We use this to email you about the launch and to shape what we build first. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Account information

When you create an account we collect your email address and, optionally, your name and profile picture. Authentication is handled by Clerk (see Third Parties below). If you sign in with a social provider (Google, GitHub, etc.) we receive only the data that provider shares with Clerk.

Usage and practice data

We store your in-app progress, practice history, XP, streaks, and recordings so your data persists across devices. This data is associated with your account.

Technical data

We may collect standard web server logs including IP address, browser type, and referring URL. Error reports may be captured via Sentry.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To operate the waitlist and email you about the launch where you have consented (lawful basis: consent).
  • To provide and operate the Service (lawful basis: contract).
  • To save and sync your practice progress across devices (lawful basis: contract).
  • To diagnose technical errors and improve the Service (lawful basis: legitimate interest).
  • To send you transactional emails, such as account and waitlist confirmations (lawful basis: contract).
  • To send optional product update emails where you have consented (lawful basis: consent).

We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

  • Clerk — identity and authentication. Processes your email address and social-login tokens. clerk.com/privacy
  • Resend — email delivery. Processes your name and email address to send waitlist and transactional emails. resend.com/legal/privacy-policy
  • Cloudflare — CDN, DDoS protection, and bot verification (Turnstile) on our forms. Processes request metadata. cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
  • Railway — cloud hosting provider where our backend runs. railway.app/legal/privacy
  • Sentry — error monitoring. May receive stack traces that include anonymised request context. sentry.io/privacy

Where any of these services are located outside the UK/EEA, transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent adequacy mechanism.

5. Data Retention

  • Waitlist data: retained while you remain subscribed to launch updates, and removed when you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
  • Account and practice data: retained for the life of your account, plus up to 30 days after deletion to allow recovery.
  • Server logs: retained for up to 90 days.

6. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”), subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Restriction — ask us to pause processing in certain circumstances.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Withdraw consent — at any time where processing is based on consent (e.g. marketing emails).

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@frazermusic.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

7. Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

  • Bot-verification cookie (set by Cloudflare Turnstile) — strictly necessary to protect our forms from automated abuse.
  • Authentication session cookie (set by Clerk) — strictly necessary to keep you logged in. Cannot be disabled without breaking the login flow.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any similar third-party tracking scripts.

8. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
